Washington, DC – Congressman Joe Kennedy III, a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, released the following statement today in response to comments by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan equating Zionism to a “crime against humanity.”
“Prime Minster Erdogan’s comments are deeply offensive, and I join Secretary Kerry in rejecting them. Israel is an unwavering ally and the US will always support its right to exist. Turkey is an important partner in efforts to bring peace to the Middle East. These comments run counter to achieving this critical goal."
