CONGRESSMAN KENNEDY ANNOUNCES $900K FOR MASS BAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE STEM PROGRAM
Newton, MA – Congressman Joe Kennedy III today announced that Massachusetts Bay Community College will receive $891,414 in federal funding through the National Science Foundation (NSF). The grants will be provided to the iCREAT project, which utilizes coding, robotics, electronics and technology curriculum to create a pathway to middle-skill jobs.
“Training students through innovative STEM curriculums will ensure they are prepared for the jobs of today and tomorrow in our rapidly expanding technology sector,” said Congressman Kennedy. “These funds will help Mass Bay partner with local high schools to engage students in STEM and will help local businesses find qualified employees in their own backyard. I congratulate Mass Bay on earning this grant, and look forward to seeing the impact this project will have in Wellesley and across our Commonwealth.”
The grant was provided through the NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Program (S-STEM). For more information about the grant, please click here.
