CONGRESSMAN KENNEDY STATEMENT ON TRADE VOTE
Washington, DC – Congressman Joe Kennedy III released the following statement after voting against the “fast track” trade bill in the House of Representatives today.
“Lost jobs and closed factories across our country tell the story of trade agreements passed without strong protections for workers and businesses in the United States. While trade can open doors for American industry, the ultimate success of our continued economic growth rests on the shoulders of working-class communities. Until access to economic opportunity takes hold in places like Fall River, Taunton and Attleboro, my focus will be on growth in the cities and towns in Massachusetts that need it most.”
