CONGRESSMAN KENNEDY OPENS CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION FOR 4th DISTRICT

Newton, MA – Congressman Joe Kennedy today announced that his office will begin accepting submissions for the Congressional Art Competition – a nationwide high school visual arts competition. Additionally the Congressman announced the formation of an independent panel of artists and artistic professionals from across the 4th District who will select the winning submissions.

“The Congressional Art Competition is a fantastic opportunity for students across the 4th District to showcase their artistic talent,” said Congressman Kennedy. “We are lucky to have a very accomplished group of local arts professionals serve as panelists for the competition.”

Students from across the district are encouraged to submit original artwork in the following categories: paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography. The Congressman’s independent arts panel will select a finalist in each category. The remaining finalists will have their artwork displayed in the Congressman’s district offices.
