KENNEDY HONORS FERNANDES, MOORE ON HOUSE FLOOR

Washington, DC – Congressman Joe Kennedy today honored State Representative John Fernandes (D-Milford) and State Senator Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge) on the floor of the House of Representatives. Rep. Fernandes and Senator Moore received an Environmental Merit Award this week from the Environmental Protection Agency’s New England office for their work to combat phosphorous runoff in the Charles River.

“When studies showed phosphorous levels in the Charles River at nearly double the level considered healthy, these two men immediately recognized the dangerous impact this would have on the region’s cities and towns,” said Congressman Kennedy. “As dedicated as they are diligent, as creative as they are compassionate – they seek every day to do better and do more for the communities they represent. I am honored to work with them, to recognize them, and to call them friends.”
