KENNEDY STATEMENT ON DEPLOYMENT OF US SPECIAL OPERATIONS TROOPS TO SYRIA

Newton, MA – Congressman Joe Kennedy III released the following statement today in response to the Obama Administration’s plan to send U.S. special operations troops into Syria.

“Over a year has passed since the first U.S. airstrike against ISIL and Congress has still failed to debate and authorize any use of military force. With this latest development, we continue to ask our men and women in uniform to shoulder a conflict their elected officials aren’t willing to vote on. Congressional leadership and the Obama Administration must develop a clear and comprehensive strategy for the region and bring an authorization for the use of military force to the floor for debate immediately.”
