Congressman Kennedy Announces $19,761,201 for the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and $2,732,659 for the Niagara Falls International Airport for Infrastructure Improvement Projects

BUFFALO, NY—Today, Congressman Tim Kennedy (NY-26) released the following statement announcing $19,761,201 in funding for the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and $2,732,659 in funding for the Niagara Falls International Airport, through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvements Grant (AIG) funding.

“Today’s funding builds on investments in our region’s airports to improve safety, bolster our tourism and travel sector, and create good-paying union jobs,” Congressman Tim Kennedy said. “At the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, nearly $20 million in funding will rehabilitate the runway—strengthening safety and improving resiliency. At the Niagara Falls International Airport, more than $2.7 million will go toward reconstructing taxiway lighting, ensuring the safety of the flying public and the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Thanks to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, we are rebuilding our airports and investing in the long-term success of Western New York.”
