Congressman Kennedy, Veterans One-stop Center Announce Over $1.5 Million for At-Risk Veterans

Funding Will Expand Housing and Suicide Prevention Services

Today, Congressman Tim Kennedy (NY-26) announced funding for the Veterans One-stop Center in Buffalo, New York. A total of $836,189, made available through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families will be directed towards supporting homeless and at-risk veterans and their families. Additionally, $750,000 from the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program will be dedicated to veteran suicide prevention efforts.

“Our veterans have sacrificed dearly for our country, and it’s our duty to support them when they need us most,” said Congressman Kennedy. “I am proud to announce over $1.5 million in federal funding for Veterans One-stop Center to meet the housing needs of veterans and their families, and to reduce the number of veterans who take their life after leaving the service. This funding is helping to ensure our heroes in Western New York are never left behind or forgotten.”

"Funding for programs like Supportive Services for Veteran Families and the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program is crucial," said Veterans One-stop Center President & CEO Adam Howard. "It provides essential support and resources, ensuring our Veterans and their families receive the care and assistance they deserve. The Veterans One-stop Center strives to ensure that all Veterans and their families have barrier-free access to the services they need to deal with challenges at home, to complete the transition to civilian life, and to achieve their goals and reach their full potential."
