WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman Tim Kennedy was sworn into the 119th Congress to continue fighting for the people of New York’s 26th Congressional District. He was joined by his son Connor. “I am honored that the people of my community, New York’s 26th Congressional District, have entrusted me with the responsibility of representing them in Congress,” said Congressman Kennedy. “I’m in Washington to fight for Western New Yorkers, who are demanding good-paying jobs, affordable housing, accessible healthcare, quality schools, and upgraded infrastructure. We have many challenges to tackle on behalf of our nation, and I look forward to my first full term getting underway to do it.” During the 118th Congress, Kennedy served on the House Committee on Homeland Security and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. He is the Co-Chair of the Northern Border Caucus, and member of the Reproductive Justice Caucus’ VA, Servicemembers, and Veterans Task Force, as well as many other bipartisan working groups. In November, Kennedy was unanimously elected by his Democratic Caucus colleagues to serve as Regional Whip for Region 11 in the 119th Congress. Kennedy was sworn in on May 6, 2024, to serve in the 118th Congress after winning a special election. Kennedy is a licensed occupational therapist, working for a decade helping children and seniors live their fullest lives before entering public service.
