Congressman Kennedy Denounces Trump’s Move To Gut Union Protections

President Trump’s Attack On Federal Workers Continues, Eliminating Collective Bargaining Rights For 18 Different Agencies

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tim Kennedy (NY-26) released the following statement on the Trump Administration's executive order that strips collective bargaining rights and worker protections from employees across the federal government:

“Collective bargaining is the foundation of a strong and fair American workforce. It ensures living wages, safe working conditions, and a pathway to the middle class. With this executive order, President Trump is stripping fundamental rights from an estimated 1.5 million public servants who keep our country running. From VA nurses to food safety inspectors, these workers dedicate their lives to serving the American people. Silencing their voices isn’t just union-busting; it’s an attack on every community that relies on them.

“This is not about national security. This is about retaliation. The Trump Administration is trying to undermine our federal workforce at every turn – throwing the lives of working families into chaos and degrading the critical services our government provides.

“I stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in labor and the unions fighting to protect their rights. I urge my colleagues – both Democrats and Republicans – to defend the dedicated public servants who provide vital services to all of our communities. I will continue fighting against this administration to protect collective bargaining, defend our public service workforce, and ensure that every worker has a voice on the job.”
