WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tim Kennedy (NY-26) released the following statement after President Trump delivered his address to a Joint Session of Congress:

“Once again, when presented with an opportunity to unite the country, President Trump chose division. The American people are demanding solutions to lower the cost of living, make healthcare more affordable, and keep our communities safe.

“Unfortunately, President Trump and Elon Musk have different priorities: decimating Medicaid, failing to meet our obligations to our veterans, and gutting the federal workforce that our country relies on, all to give yet another tax break to the rich.

“We are just over a week away from a government shutdown. We must move past extremism and division to deliver the services Western New Yorkers and people across the country need, as we were elected to do.”
